Grace Baptist Church is far more than a building on the corner of King Street & Louisiana Avenue. We are a family...in fact, we're a family of about 120 families from Bristol and neighboring communities.
We're not all that much different from you, our neighbors. We're teachers, secretaries, machinists, sales people, medical assistants, students, homemakers, nurses, data entry clerks, computer systems techs, bakers, truck drivers, security guards--you name it!
We enjoy reading, soccer, needle work, golf, music, ham radio, fishing, racquetball, horseback riding, singing, Scouting and spectator sports of all kinds. (We're about 50-50 in the Yankee-Red Sox debate, with the occasional lone dissenter who roots for the Cardinals...but we don't hold that against Pastor Barry).
One thing we all have in common, though, is our love for Jesus. We know we're sinners, and as such are separated from God. We know that there's nothing we can possibly do to right ourselves with God. We know that we would be consigned to an eternity apart from Him...were it not for the loving gift of His son, Jesus.
We believe that Jesus, born 2000 years ago to a young virgin in Bethlehem, lived a sinless life. Because of His love for us, He took our sin upon Himself and died a horrible death, nailed to a cross, in payment for that sin. We believe that Jesus died, was buried and rose from the dead, having defeated death and Satan. He ascended to be with His Father in Heaven where He now lives and will return for us again.
Through His death and resurrection Jesus has given us the gift of salvation. What we cannot do, He has done for us. Through Him we are able to claim eternal life with God, the Father. We need only believe on Jesus and accept His gift.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16.

Affiliation
Grace Baptist is affiliated with the
Baptist
General Conference (BGC) and its

Northeast
Baptist Conference). The BGC began
more than a century ago as a network of Swedish Baptist churches. In
time, it created its own seminary (Bethel,
in St. Paul, MN) and missionary force, and today is a diverse,
multi-ethnic fellowship of more than 900 churches from around the
world. The BGC is also a member of the
National Association
of Evangelicals and the
