Step One: Observation  –  What do I see?

2. Specific Observations (Write at least ten!)

 

Step Two: Interpretation - What does it mean?

1. This passage is about…(What was the author trying to say to his original readers?)
2. Ask questions! (Is there anything difficult to understand about this passage? What would I like to know more about? Was is confusing? Can the passage be interpreted in different ways?)

 

Step Three: Application - What should I do about it?

1. What timeless principles does the passage teach?
2. What truths does this passage teach me about God?
3. What truths does this passage teach that I need to apply to my life?
