    The Journey Plan

Scripture teaches that there are foundational doctrines and skills which a new believer must learn early on to insure that their journey with Jesus gets off on the right foot.

    • “For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.” ~ 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

Grace’s Journey ministry exists to lay out for every new believer a two-year teaching track that will provide the specific knowledge they need for their young faith as well as basic skills that every Christian should master to keep their spiritual life strong.

    • “Surely you heard of him and were taught in him in accordance with the truth
that is in Jesus.” ~ Ephesians 4:21

While participants can do this work on their own, we strongly encourage that they be part of a small group of newer and older believers where the things they are learning can be reinforced and supported by others.

    • “But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced
of, because you know those from whom you learned it.” ~ 2 Timothy 3:14

Our goal is to link one to three newer believers with one to three older believers in a small group relationship where there will be twice-a-month contact. Once a month, the group will meet for a formal 1-2 hour session in which Bible study material will be reviewed, and personal sharing and prayer support will be offered. The second contact can be an informal friendship-building time.

Why Call This Program “The Journey”?

The goal of this program is not to just cram your head full of data – it’s to connect you personally and relationally to Jesus. “Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up,” the Bible says (1 Cor.8:1). Jesus wants to walk beside us in our lives and make us more like himself. When I learn how to read the Bible and pray, I am actually spending time with my Lord. Real communication is taking place.  And as I commit to this ‘journey’, Jesus teaches me and changes me. If all I do in this time is learn cold facts and hard doctrines, my head will puff up but my heart will remain unchanged.

    • We will complete Books 1-6 of the Navigator’s Design for Discipleship series. DFD is one of the most comprehensive, simple, and user-friendly resources for growing in Bible knowledge and doctrine.
    • We will master the habit of a daily quiet time with God where we will be reading specific books in Scripture using a simple Bible study method.
    • We will complete Grace’s 101-401 Seminars.

Contact us and let us know of your interest. New groups are starting all the time, so now’s the time to get on board.
